Wednesday Lenten Speaker Series – Rev. Christopher E. Winkler

Christopher E. Winkler has served as an appointed pastor in the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church for more than 20 years. In his ministry he has served congregations in Winfield (Community), Wheaton (Gary) and Roselle. Since 2013 he has served as Senior Pastor of Barrington UMC and is the lead pastor of the Barrington Dundee multi-site ministry.
After graduating from high school, Chris worked as a carpenter and general contractor before answering God’s call to ministry. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Religion from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. Chris earned his Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois as well a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Garrett/Kellogg School of Management. Chris has a passion for revitalizing the local church as well as preaching, teaching and worship design. He is the son, grandson and nephew of Methodist ministers and his brother, Dr. James Winkler is the General Secretary and President of the National Council of Churches.
