Olesya DZHURAYEVA Born in 1982 in the city of Dushanbe in what was then Soviet Tajikistan, Olesya Dzhurayeva (Олеся Джураєвa) moved to Ukraine in 1989. She has lived and worked in the capital, Kiev ever since. Olesya Dzhurayeva has become almost exclusively a printmaker, creating linocuts, which she overwhelmingly prints monochromatically. She has gained broad international recognition for the finesse and liveliness of her fine line and stipple technique, which harks back to old master techniques of printmaking, as well as for the peace and quiet of her compositions.
